Cute Ideas!

My Place in the World

  • This activity is excellent to implement in students an understanding of cause-and-effect relationships. First, have them compose a list of what they hope to accomplish in the future, both near and distant. Then, instruct them to create a web to illustrate the best way to achieve their goals and the potential obstacles that they may face. This will help them to anticipate the amount of effort required for them to succeed and be able to visualize ways they may get there.

==Build-Me-Up Bag==
  • Children of all ages often find themselves subjected to criticism and self-doubt as they maneuver through the school day. Their peers are insecure about complimenting them and helping them regard their situation with a fresh perspective. Assign paper bags to each student in your class and instruct peers to drop a note in them whenever they wish to make a compliment. Notes do not have to be related to classroom interactions but can be about anything, from a stylish new haircut to a clever comment made during recess. Each note should be anonymous and bags should be located in a private spot to prevent students from feeling self-conscious.
